Pure Copper is an ideal material for standing seam metal roofing or cladding. It is easy to fold, can be soldered and it comes in a variety of finishes from natural bright Copper through to Verdigris aged green.
If there are negatives, they are the high purchase cost of the material and the theft risk during installation. This is where GreenCoat PLX is an ideal material for such large projects. Hence, when the developers of this large housing scheme conducted a cost benefit analysis, the case for PLX Bronze tone copper cladding was secured.
This project comprised standing seam panels at 430mm seam centres. Panels were formed on site by the expert metal roof installers using techniques similar to those of natural copper.
